About Me

Hi! I'm Wendi!

Hi! My name is Wendi Caillouet and I create ocean inspired
artwork using epoxy resin!

I grew up in the beautiful Florida Keys and since I was a
little girl my whole world has revolved around the ocean! I spent as much of my childhood as possible exploring the underwater world and learning to appreciate the importance of its presence to my own life here on Earth. Growing up, I wanted to be a Marine Biologist to study the ocean and its plethora of inhabitants. I was saddened to learn of the dangers posed to our beautiful coral reefs as a result of global warming and pollution.

As I got older, my more creative talents took over and I just
knew I wanted to create artwork inspired by the ocean and, ultimately, hope to help bring awareness to the serious ocean crisis that is upon us.  I wanted my artwork to capture the beauty of the ocean but at the same time not hide the ugly truth about the state of our planet’s
largest ecosystem.

Using real sand, seashells and ocean trash I combine natural
elements with the fluidity of epoxy resin to create realistic oceans and
shorelines on wood substrate. I use a 2-part epoxy resin that cures to a beautiful,
glass like finish and is UV resistant, although, I do not recommend prolonged
exposure to sunlight or displaying my artwork outdoors.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explore my artwork!
